If you are looking for a quick and easy way to decorate for fall, this banner is for you. Recently, we needed a simple home decorating project for our 4-H club to complete during one of our meetings. I designed this banner, prepped 15 kits for the meeting, and we were set.

I used my Cricut to cut the pieces, since I was making 15 of these banners. But the downloadable template includes a printable you can use to make the banner with just scissors and a hole punch as your only tools. If you have fabric or cardstock scraps from other projects, try a patchwork look with mixed colors and patterns.

Supplies for making the Thankful Banner

Only a handful of supplies are needed, and you likely already have some around the house that will work.

  • 12×12 inch card stock: 3 sheets
  • Fabric (1/2 yard is plenty) or another color/pattern of 12×12 card stock (2-3 sheets)
  • Twine
  • Adhesive (glue stick, adhesive squares, glue dots, etc.)
  • Option 1: Scissors and a hole punch
  • Option 2: Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine

Alternate options for the Thankful Banner

  • No card stock? Brown paper bags would also work.
  • Want an easier option for the letters? Stickers work well, and if you don’t have any check your dollar stores.
  • No fabric? Do you have an old men’s dress shirt or other unused clothing you could re-purpose?
  • Instead of twine, yard would work fine.
