Monthly musings: Spring fashion preview

It’s time for the monthly musings link-up with Holly and Patty, and this one is a Spring fashion preview. Are we ready for Spring? The calendar says the seasons changed last week, but it didn’t feel like it that day. I’m hoping for some warmer days in April.

Favorite spring outfit, fashion staples, and favorite colors in the spring

Ok, I’m combining question #1, #2, and #3. I like “springy” colors all year. Think lavender, baby blue, turquoise. And for some reason my spring fashion plans involve a lot of slip-on sandals – that’s my staple, easy and cute. These three outfits are perfect examples, and I can’t decide which is my favorite spring outfit this year.

I adore the floral embroidery on this blue striped top, along with the ruffles on the sleeves.

Finally I love these cute denim blue slide sandals and purse, paired with a blue and yellow flowered top that has a gathered and ruffled neckline.

Now if Spring weather would just get here!

Do you change up your handbag for a new season?

I use the same handbag for every day year round, and swap it out when I get a new one I like I’ve been using this one since last fall.

Favorite Spring scents

I love the scent of lilacs, but I also love the fresh spring scent of wild onions and fresh cut grass. I wouldn’t want to smell like either of those latter two items, but they give me all the spring feels.

Favorite stores for spring

I tend to shop at a lot of the same stores regardless of season – my favorite is LL Bean, but I also buy quite a bit from Amazon.

Thrift shopping?

I LOVE thrift store shopping. I don’t end up buying a lot of clothing that way, but I have found a few really perfect pairs of pants and jeans.

Any styles I’m not feeling?

I’m not a big fan of the wide bottom cropped jeans. At 5 foot tall, I look like one of the seven dwarves in those.

Any dress-up events this spring?

Yes! We have a Senior Banquet for the graduating seniors in our homeschool group that is formal, plus graduation itself is a dressy event.

Complete wardrobe overhaul or just a few pieces?

I definitely just add a few new pieces here and there, and then try to also remove pieces that no longer fit, are worn out or rarely worn.
